Who We Are:
Original Healing Ministries (OHM) was initially blessed into existence by God in 1998, under the name Original Healing Wellness Center. In 2006, God expanded our vision and mission; we are a Christ-centered, gospel, health and educational evangelistic ministry. The Institute of Original Healing (IOH) operates under the umbrella of Original Healing Ministries (OHM) a non-profit ministry. “It is the divine plan that we shall work as the disciples worked. Physical healing is bound up with the gospel commission. In the work of the gospel, teaching and healing are never to be separated” Ministry of Healing, p. 140.
IOH follows the example left us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by using the health message as the entering wedge to reach lost souls with the gospel of salvation so individuals can make an educated decision of where they want to spend eternity.
“The members are to be so established in the faith that they will have an intelligent knowledge of medical missionary work. They are to follow Christ's example, ministering to those around them. Faithfully they are to fulfill the vows made at their baptism, the vow that they will practice the lessons taught in the life of Christ…” Medical Ministry, p. 315.
OHM is dedicated to training the body of Christ, His church, and those in and want to be apart of the Missionary Health Restoration work. This is why God has blessed us into existence. For more information about training as a Missionary Health Restoration Practitioner, or Naturopathic Doctor contact OHM, at ministry@originalhealing.org, or click on the MHR-Training tab.
Why “Missionary Health Restoration Practitioner?”
“The medical missionary work might better be named the Missionary Health Restoration Work” Letter 77, 1900, p.5, from Ellen White to Dr. Kellogg.
God in His infinite mercy, informed His people through His servant Ellen White of the persecution that was soon to take place in America by the American Medical Association (AMA). In 1908, the AMA began legally persecuting other health care disciplines including medical missionaries, in America. To avoid this persecution we were counseled to change the name of our work.
With the current medical laws becoming more controlled and restrictive, and with government-sponsored health care, i.e. Obama care, it is time we follow the Lord's Counsel. If we have not been worldly educated in a school that has been accredited, and have not received our worldly degree from such institution; and if we are not licensed by the government to practice medicine, then it is time to remove the word medical from our name, unless educated and credentialed.
As a Missionary Health Restoration Practitioner, we are connected with the Great Physician who healeth all our diseases, Psalms 103: 3, 4; 107: 20.
Maranatha, the Lord is coming soon
